Etsy and Shopify sellers

For your Etsy-Shop or Shopify-Onlineshop you need images that show the scope of delivery and the characteristics of a piece of jewellery in an understandable way. I match the background, format and sequence of images on your product pages so that product images fit together on a white background and supplementary wearing or lifestyle images. In the case of variants, we determine which views remain the same and where a difference should be explicitly visible.

Goldsmiths and jewellery designers

With handcrafted pieces, surface, frame or unusual shape can be particularly important. They explain to me which features your work distinguishes; I choose the perspective and lighting accordingly. You can also have individual pieces photographed without having to put together a larger series.

Jewellery brands and wholesalers

For collections and larger assortments it is important to assign the images to articles and variants. We agree a common image style, the required views and a file name that fits your workflow. A coordinated reference makes it easier to include further models in the same style later.

Amazon and Otto sellers

What makes jewellery photography difficult

Polished metal reflects its surroundings. Therefore, camera, room or light sources can appear as bright and dark surfaces on a ring or bracelet. Controlled reflections should show the rounding and surface without covering important contours or acting like stains.

Stones and cubic zirconia need light that makes their cut visible. Too large bright reflections can cover facets; too uniform illumination can make the jewel appear flat. I match light and perspective so that the trim and frame remain visible together.

Gold, rose gold and silver are to be displayed in a distinctive and colour-sensitive way. Light colour and reflected surroundings influence the impression already during the recording. During the processing, I orientate myself on the jewellery; different displays, however, can represent the colours differently.

Dust, fingerprints and fine scratches are often more noticeable on enlarged photos than when looking at the product. Careful preparation reduces avoidable traces. During processing, it remains important to distinguish between disturbing dust and actual product properties, so that the image does not distort the jewellery offered.

Before shoot, we will determine which images you need and how they should be used. These include the number of views, the desired image size and the assignment to your articles. This will allow you to receive a delivery that can be maintained in your shop and the scope of which is comprehensible before the start.

Usually 3 to 5 days after the products arrive, express in about 2 to 3 days on request.

How it works

1. Request: You tell me your jewels, the desired imagery and the purpose for which they are used.
2. Handover: You send your jewellery by post or bring it by agreement in Berlin. We coordinate packaging and a suitable protection.
3. Photos and editing: I photograph your jewellery and edit the photos as agreed.
4. Download and return shipping: You will receive your pictures for download. We plan to return your jewels together.

Frequently asked questions about jewellery photography in Berlin

How much does jewellery photography cost?

Product images on a white background cost €20 per image and view as fixed price including editing, with or without shadow, as JPG or PSD. Lifestyle pictures from approx. €25 per image and on-model photos from approx. €30 per image. I calculate lifestyle pictures and on-model photos individually according to effort and wishes. All prices are final prices. As a small business under Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG), I do not charge VAT.

Can I send my jewellery by mail?

Yes. You can send your jewellery from all over Germany & Austria to my studio in Berlin. We agree on the type of shipping, packaging and the protection appropriate to the value of the goods.

How fast do I get the pictures?

Usually 3 to 5 days after the products arrive, express in about 2 to 3 days on request.

Can I bring the jewellery to Berlin?

Yes, a personal handover in Berlin is possible by prior arrangement. We also coordinate a pick-up in Berlin by arrangement.

Which file formats do I get?

Product images on white background can be obtained as JPG or PSD, with or without shadow. We coordinate the appropriate output formats together before shoot.

Do you also take pictures for Etsy, Amazon and Shopify?

Yes. I photograph jewellery for online shops and marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon and Shopify. Image format and background we agree with your use and the respective specifications.

Is there a minimum quantity?

No, there is no minimum quantity. You can also have a single piece of jewellery photographed. For planning, please give me the desired views and the intended use of the pictures.

May I use the pictures on Amazon, Etsy and Instagram?

Usage rights for your shop, marketplaces, social media and advertising are included in the price.

Is my jewellery insured during shipping?

I recommend you to send your jewellery insured according to the value of the goods. Check in advance whether jewellery and the specific value are actually secured in the chosen shipping method; a general package insurance does not automatically cover every case. How is the jewellery cleaned and prepared?

I handle the jewellery with gloves and gently wipe it with a cloth before photographing it. Please tell me about sensitive materials, surfaces or specific care instructions. If further cleaning is needed, I will agree the approach with you beforehand.

Can you photograph an entire collection in a uniform style?

Yes, I define recurring perspectives, backgrounds and image sections for your collection. I take special features of individual types of jewellery into account within this common design. One jewellery collection, one consistent visual style.

Do you also work with clients outside Berlin and in Austria?

Yes, you can send your jewellery from all over Germany & Austria to my studio in Berlin. We coordinate views, formats and procedures with each other before shipping. After the shoot you will receive the pictures for download; the return of your pieces will also be agreed beforehand.
