Necklace and pendant photography
I photograph chains and pendants for your online shop as product images on a white background for €20 per image and view including editing. On-model photos on the neck are available from approx. €30 per image so that you can show length and effect. Usually 3 to 5 days after the products arrive, express in about 2 to 3 days on request.
With a chain, the arrangement strongly influences how the jewel is perceived. A quiet course makes the links recognizable, a fitting neckline shows the relationship between the chain and pendant. I agree with you whether the entire chain, a certain course or the effect on the neck should be in the foreground.
Show chains lying or hanging
A lying arrangement is suitable to build up the course of a chain in a controlled manner. The links can be aligned without overlaying them unintentionally. Especially with flat chains or a set, it can be shown which components belong together. The course should fit to the construction and not pretend a stiff shape.
A hanging representation can illustrate the case of the chain and the position of a pendant. It needs a suitable preparation so that the jewel does not twist. Which variant makes sense for your model depends on length, weight and limb shape. We decide on the basis of the product and the planned use in the shop.
Make the pendant a clear part of the composition
For many chains, the pendant is the characteristic that is first considered. Its shape, surface and connection to the chain should therefore be recognizable. At the same time, the photo must make clear whether you sell the pendant alone or together with the chain. An appealing arrangement must not misunderstand the scope of delivery.
With a small pendant, another view can be useful, which shows more of its design. An overall view remains important if the chain is part of the offer. We define the sequence of images together, so that the images answer different questions. In doing so, neither proportions nor the actual connection between the pendant and the chain are changed.
Clean cutouts of fine chain links
Many small spaces are created between fine chain links. With a product picture on a white background these should be preserved, while the background appears calm and uniform. Too bright reflections can dissolve individual links; too dark areas make the material look heavier. Light and processing must therefore fit together.
Even with very fine chains a clear course is important. Crossovers can be wanted, but should not accidentally cover important parts. I take into account the link structure when preparing the recording. A clean product image on a white background should separate the chain from the background without artificially thickening or simplifying its contours.
Show necklace length clearly when worn
The centimeters of a chain are important for the purchase, but only a few words about their effect on the body. A photo on the model shows where a pendant sits approximately and how the chain acts to a neckline. The actual position depends, among other things, on physique, neck circumference and chosen length.
Therefore, the specification of measurements remains necessary in your product description. If several lengths are offered, a coordinated series of pictures can explain the difference. Thinking about closures and variants
A clasp can be relevant to your customers' decision, for example in the case of an extension chain or a special connection. If it is visible, we plan the process accordingly or arrange an additional view. A long chain can be shown completely and at the same time a small clasp can be clearly depicted, can not always be solved in a single image.
For variants made of gold, rose gold or silver, I coordinate lighting and crop. The differences in the metal colours should remain recognizable while the series belongs together. The same applies to pendants with different trimmings. A comprehensible assignment of the files will help you to get into the shop later.
How to prepare your necklaces for the studio
Send chains as individually as possible and so that they do not knot together. Pendants, extensions and additional components should be clearly assigned to an article. Note length and article number as well as the information whether chain and pendant are sold together. Notes on sensitive surfaces or special materials help in the preparation.
Before recording, we coordinate backgrounds, shadows and views. You will receive processed images in the agreed formats; product images on a white background are possible as JPG or PSD. Frequently asked questions
Can a long chain be shown completely?
Yes, I adjust the arrangement to its length and shape. Depending on the piece of jewellery, a lying or hanging representation is suitable. Small features may require additional views if they are hardly recognizable in the overall picture.
Do you also take pictures of pendants without a chain?
Yes, individual pendants can be photographed. Tell me whether a chain belongs to the offer or only the pendant is sold. The picture should show the actual delivery.
Can I show different chain lengths on the neck?
Yes, a coordinated series of on-model photos can illustrate the differences. The effect also depends on the wearer. Therefore, specify the actual length in centimeters.
Are the spaces of fine links preserved?
In the release I take into account the contours and interspaces of the links. The chain should be separated from the background without losing its structure. We adjust the appropriate resolution to the intended use.
