Bracelets can fall flexibly while a bracelet retains its firm shape. This difference should be visible on the pictures. I photograph your models so that construction, surface and closure remain comprehensible. A photo on the model on the wrist can complement how wide the jewel looks and what distance a bracelet has to the arm.

Show the shape and course of a bracelet

The arrangement of a link strap contributes significantly to the impression. A closed course can show how the links are connected to each other. An open version, on the other hand, makes the length and the two ends more visible. The appropriate representation depends on which characteristics are important for your model.

Flexible bracelets should not be positioned in such a way that they look like rigid bracelets. Conversely, a solid model needs a view that shows its spatial shape. I adjust the arrangement before the photograph and make sure that individual elements do not overlap unintentionally. In series I maintain comparable positions.

Depict the closure intelligible

Carabiners, folding clasp, pull mechanism or open ends influence handling. If the clasp is an important feature, it should not disappear in the picture on the concealed back. A matching rotation or additional view can help to show its design intelligibly. Which solution is useful depends on the jewel.

With an adjustable bracelet, the moving parts should lie in such a way that their function remains comprehensible. However, a recording does not replace a description of the adjustment range. In addition, specify the available dimensions in the shop. For the shoot, a brief indication of how the model is opened, closed or adjusted helps.

Show bangles in three dimensions rather than flat

An armband can look very flat at the front, although it has a pronounced roundness. A slightly oblique perspective often shows more of its depth and material strength. In open armbands the opening should also be recognizable. The chosen view must not distort the shape so that the product looks different than in the hand.

Reflexes on a wide, polished surface require a controlled environment. Bright and dark transitions can describe the rounding, but must fit the surface. In structured or matte models, we set other focal points. It is about making the respective character visible and not working out differences between variants.

Complement the effect on the wrist

On a product picture on a white background, the construction can be viewed without distraction. A photo on the model also shows how wide a wrist strap looks and how a firm bracelet sits. A combination of several models also shows the relationship between each other. It must remain clear which pieces belong to the respective range.

The fit depends on the circumference of the wrist and the size of the piece of jewellery. A photo is therefore an orientation and does not replace any dimensions. I choose a pose that shows the bracelet without covering it with the hand or clothing. Show jewellery size with photos on model.

Photographing materials and series uniformly

A braided tape needs a different representation than a mirroring link strap. Structure, material colour and transitions to the closure should nevertheless fit together in a quiet series of pictures. To do this, I coordinate the background, crop and perspective. This does not mean that each model is positioned equally regardless of its design.

With a collection of multiple metal colours, consistent colour reproduction is important. Silver should not appear coloured by the environment, while gold and rose gold must remain distinguishable. A common reference facilitates later additions. Thus, new variants can build on the existing style without hiding differences in the product.

Prepare bracelets for the shoot

Mark your models with item numbers and size specifications. For adjustable pieces, the range of possible lengths is helpful, for bracelets of the relevant diameter or the size designation used by you. You should briefly explain special closures or sensitive surfaces. This allows the handling to be clarified together before taking them.

Pack the pieces individually protected so that they do not rub against each other during transport. There is no minimum quantity; even a single model can be requested. We will vote in advance on handover and collection in Berlin or shipping from Germany & Austria. You can find an overview of the cooperation on jewellery photography in Berlin.

Frequently asked questions

Should a bracelet be shown open or closed?

Both can be useful. Closed the course becomes clear, open ends and closure can often be seen better. I select the views according to the characteristics of your model.

How do you show the rounding of an armband?

A slanted perspective can make depth and material thickness visible. Light curves support the representation of the surface. The solid shape is retained and is not artificially altered.

Is a photo on the model useful for wide bracelets?

It can help to assess the width in relation to the wrist. However, you should mention dimensions and available sizes in addition. In advance, we adjust which position the model shows sufficiently visible.

Can several bracelets be photographed together?

Yes, if you want to show a combination or a set. The arrangement should make clear which products belong to it. For individually offered models additional individual views can be useful.
