Ear jewellery places different requirements on the presentation: small ear studs need clear contours, hoop earrings have a comprehensible diameter and long ear hangers enough space for their shape. I photograph your pieces as product images on white background, lifestyle image or photo on the model. Which photos are useful depends on the offer in your shop and the questions of your customers.

A pair or a single piece of jewellery?

The first picture should clearly show what you are selling. If a pair is offered, a joint recording of both earrings is often the most understandable solution. With a single ear stud or an asymmetric offer, the selection must remain equally clear. The image design should not suggest any additional components that are not included in the scope of delivery.

In a pair, I coordinate alignment, distance and height. Identical pieces can stand quietly side by side; different shapes may need a different arrangement. An additional view can show the plug or the back. Thus, your customers also recognize how the earrings is built up and what type of closure it has.

Making size series comparable with hoop earrings

If you offer the same creole in several diameters, a uniform image style is particularly important. If all variants are shown independently of each other, large and small models quickly appear the same size in the overview. A common size series can make this difference visible and complement the selection.

For individual product images, we define perspective and distance. In a common image, I arrange the sizes in a comprehensible way without making a small creole disappear behind a larger one. The actual dimensions still belong in your product description. The photo helps in comparison, but is not a reliable measurement template on every screen.

Displaying small ear studs sharp

In the case of small ear studs, the frame, stone and metal edge lie closely together. An inappropriate lighting can overshadow the stone or cover the shape of the frame. I make sure that these areas remain distinguishable in the intended view. Also a small preview in the shop should make the motif still visible.

In case of coloured trimming, a coordinated reproduction is important. The image should not look warmer or cooler than the jewel by a colour stitch. Different screens can nevertheless display colours differently. Therefore, we are oriented towards the product and a consistent representation within your series.

What an on-ear photograph adds

A photo on the model helps to assess how far a creole stands from the ear or how long an ear hanger looks. Even with ear studs, the ratio to the ear lobe becomes more obvious than on an optional recording. For this, the jewel must be sufficiently visible; hair or clothing should not cover it unintentionally.

Before shoot, we adjust the desired view and the handling of the worn pieces. A side view can show the shape of a creole, a slightly rotated position the trimming. The guide explains how photos work together on the model and dimensions. How big is the jewellery really?

Consider closures and moving elements

Folding hoop earrings, hooks and plugs differ in handling. If the clasp is an important selling feature, it should be recognizable in a suitable view. Moving pendants also need a position that corresponds to their structure. They should not be twisted or strained so that a false impression arises.

In the case of long earrings, we adjust the image section to the entire shape. For a collection, common rules for the upper edge, distance and background can be defined. Individual models may still need a different posture if only such a closure or a movable connection remains visible.

Prepare your Earrings Collection

Pack pairs together, but protect them so that metal and trim do not rub each other. Item numbers and sizes should be readable outside the jewel. A list helps especially if several hoop earrings only differ in diameter or the same ear stud is available in different metal colours.

Tell me which products are sold as a pair and which are sold individually. We define the desired views and output formats in advance. There is no minimum quantity. Frequently asked questions

Do you want me to have earrings photographed as a pair?

If you sell a pair, the main picture should clearly show the scope of delivery. A common picture is often useful for this. For individual pieces, we align the image accordingly to the individual product.

How can different creole sizes be shown?

A common size series makes differences within a model visible. Complementary individual images can be taken in a uniform style. The diameters should also be in the product description.

Can plugs and closures be visible?

Yes, for this I choose a matching side or rear view. Which representation makes sense depends on the design. Each agreed product image on white background view costs €20 per image and view.

Does each ear stud need a photo on the model?

Not necessarily. A photo on the model is especially helpful if the size effect on a product image on a white background is difficult to assess. For a size series we can choose together which models especially need this comparison.
